Keyes Fibre Corporation Wenatchee factory has achieved re-registration of its Quality Management System under the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. The factory produces Spring Cushion® apple and avocado trays, Superpocket® filler flats and wine shippers. The facility recently had a full audit under the ISO standard which is required on a three-year cycle to retain certifications under the internationally recognized quality management system.

EnviroPak Corp. Assets Acquisition

Keyes Packaging Group, Inc. announced this morning that it has acquired certain assets from EnviroPak Corporation ("EnviroPak") that comprise EnviroPak's molded fibre wine shipper tray product line. The acquired assets include EnviroPak's entire customer list for molded fibre wine shippers, tooling that is used to manufacture wine shippers, all tray designs and prototypes and certain other assets. The purchase price for the transaction was not disclosed.

Ted Smith, President of Keyes Packaging Group said "We are very excited to acquire EnviroPak's molded fibre wine shipper tray product line. We see excellent growth potential for these products as direct shipment of wine to individuals increases, and wine consumers continue to show a strong desire for environmentally-friendly packaging. EnviroPak will continue to produce the packaging products for a period of 12 months to alleviate production pressure on Keyes' Wenatchee facility.

Keyes Packaging Continues Expansion

Keyes Packaging Group, Inc. announced this morning that it plans to continue expansion of it's molded fibre manufacturing plant with the planned addition of an new high-speed molding machine. The company has expanded it's footprint by acquiring the Wenatchee Processing Plant from Naumes Processing, LLC., and will utilize the facility for fiber receiving and primary pulping operations, as well as product storage. The property consists of 38,700 sq ft of industrial and office space located on an 11.5 acre site directly east of the current Keyes facility.

This announcement marks the third additional production line to be added to the facility in the past 18 months, including two specialty molding machines that were installed recently. The newest machine will be the plant's tenth production line and is scheduled to start up May 1, 2007.

Keyes Packaging acquires Pactiv Corporation Assets

Keyes Packaging Group, Inc. announced this morning that it has acquired certain assets from Pactiv Corporation ("Pactiv") that comprise Pactiv's molded fibre apple tray and avocado tray product lines. The acquired assets include the Fruitmaster® tradename, all of Pactiv's inventory of molded fibre apple trays and avocado trays, molded fibre tooling that is used to manufacture apple and avocado trays, all apple tray denesters and certain other assets. Pactiv has assigned all of its contracts with the fruit packers and certain distributor and other contracts to Keyes as part of the transaction. The purchase price for the transaction was not disclosed.

Keyes® Acquires NuForm Packaging, Inc.

Keyes Packaging Group of Wenatchee, Washington, is proud to announce the acquisition of NuForm Packaging, Inc. of Tisdale, Saskatchewan. The transaction is structured as a purchase of assets.

NuForm Packaging, Inc. produces apple, avocado and specialty trays from molded fiber. NuForm will continue to operate in Tisdale for a period of time to serve its existing customers. In the future, NuForm's equipment will be integrated into the Wenatchee facility. Garry Beaudette, President and C.E.O. of NuForm will join Keyes in a management role.

Keyes Fibre Corporation Wenatchee factory has been awarded a "Superior" rating for it's product safety program from the American Institute of Bakers. The factory produces Spring Cushion® apple trays. The AIB is an independent inspection agency that reviews product safety practices within manufacturing facilities. They rate the facility based on the findings of their annual audits. "Superior" is the highest rating that they confer.

Euro Trays® Trademarked

Keyes Fibre Corporation announces the registration of of the trademark Euro Trays® by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.

Keyes Fibre is the only U.S. manufacturer of molded fibre 40 x 60 apple trays designed for the five-down footprint. The company introduced this packaging to the U.S. market in 1997, and continues today as the market leader for the format.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark office issued trademark registration 2543876 on March 5, 2002 for these trays and their intended use in packing, handling and displaying fruit or vegetables.
